In August of 1947, 1948 and 1949 I spent 3 really great vacations in the Kernochan Division of Camp Man. My unit was "K-14 - Wippenquoak". Jim Griffin was the Camp Master. The other divisions were Central and Lakeside which had a beautiful outdoor chapel on the shore of Crystal Lake. We slept in a 4 - scout lean-to which was about 2 ft. off the ground. No warm water or washing machines. Uniforms were hand-washed in cold water and hung on a line to dry.
